In Finland, police suspect a company of aggravated fraud. The company was supplying bulletproof vests to the Ukrainian army, according to the Finnish police's press service.

According to the agency, the Finnish company signed a contract worth about 5.7 million euros with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the contract, the company was supposed to supply 10,000 bulletproof vests to the Ukrainian army.

Investigators found grounds to suspect that the quality of 5,000 bulletproof vests delivered to the army did not meet the contract requirements.

"Preliminary investigation began at the end of 2023 on the basis of a request for legal assistance from Ukraine. Close cooperation with Ukrainian authorities was carried out to investigate the case," said the head of the investigation, Criminal Inspector Mikko Laaksonen.

The responsible person of the Finnish company is suspected of committing fraud, embezzlement, and money laundering with aggravating circumstances. Two people were taken into custody during the preliminary investigation.
