Finland to provide Ukraine with new military aid package worth €190 million
Finland will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package. The cost of the equipment included in this batch is approximately 190 million euros, according to the press service of the Finnish Ministry of Defense.
The decision on the new military aid package to Ukraine was made by the President of Finland on Friday, February 9, at the suggestion of the government. This is the 22nd delivery of defense equipment from Finland to Ukraine.
The total value of Finnish defense equipment supplied to Ukraine is 1.8 billion euros.
This time, the aid package also includes products purchased from the domestic industry as part of a separate €30 million financing package aimed at supporting Ukraine.
For operational reasons and to ensure the safe delivery of the aid, the exact content, method of delivery, and timing of the aid are not disclosed.
Finland's assistance to Ukraine
Finland has been providing defense and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Earlier, the Finnish government submitted to the parliament its proposal to supplement the draft budget for 2024. It includes an increase in aid to Ukraine.
Recently, Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio said that Helsinki would provide €3 million in aid to improve food security in Ukraine.
