Russian forces are attempting to outflank the city of Toretsk. Overall, the intensity of fighting in the city has increased, according to Sviatoslav Lesiuk, deputy commander of the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.

"The intensity of the fighting in the city has increased recently. It is clear that the enemy has regrouped and received reinforcements, because back in early February, they hastily reported to Moscow that Toretsk had been captured. In reality, nothing of the sort happened, and now they are having to deploy additional forces to continue assaults in the urban area," said the military official.

According to Lesiuk, Russian forces are trying to outflank the city of Toretsk.

Frontline situation

Toretsk, a city in Donetsk region, has become one of the main defensive points for Ukrainian forces. Fighting has been ongoing in the city for several months. In February, Russian forces claimed to have taken control of Toretsk, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces denied this.

Over the past 24 hours, there have been 19 enemy attacks on the Toretsk front. In total, 223 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline during the day.
