FBI agent arrested for leaking classified data amid criticism of the bureau

An FBI agent who had previously spoken out against the agency has been arrested on charges of illegally disclosing classified information, reports AP News.
Johnathan Buma, who has served in the FBI for 15 years, is accused of printing and sharing confidential documents as part of a book he was drafting about his experiences in the bureau.
"Court records indicate that Buma distributed sensitive FBI messages and files to associates," states AP News.
Authorities arrested Buma on Monday at a departure gate at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York as he was preparing to board an international flight. His attorney has not yet responded to requests for comment.
Buma has previously criticized the FBI’s handling of certain investigations, voicing concerns to the media, government agencies, and Congress.
"He raised issues with how the FBI was handling certain investigations through statements to news media, various government agencies, and Congress," details AP News.
