The three-year Life at Sea cruise was supposed to start in Istanbul on November 1. Now, due to the absence of the liner, the beginning of the journey has been postponed to November 11 in Amsterdam.
The delay is explained by the completion of the fund transfer for the purchase of the ship, according to CNN.

The renowned cruise involves visiting 382 ports in 140 countries on seven continents. Tourists are promised to see 13 out of the 14 wonders of the world. In addition, travelers are expected to spend a third of the nights in hotels on land during stops for 2-3 days. The cost of such an adventure starts from $30,000 per year.

Miray Cruises, the company that owns Life at Sea, explained that the fund transfer for purchasing the AidaAura liner took more time than expected. Earlier, the cruise was planned to be carried out on the MV Gemini ship.

After the ownership rights are transferred to the vessel, MV Lara will be renamed. This ship is larger than the previous one, with 627 cabins for 1,266 passengers. The company will need 18 days to lift the ship ashore and refurbish it before moving it to Amsterdam.

"If you are not comfortable flying to Amsterdam, then we will still plan an embarkation in Freeport [Bahamas] on the 21st of November," passengers were informed.
Customers were offered to contact the company, which will pay for redirecting people to Amsterdam or Freeport, including accommodation and the route.

Instead, passengers who have already paid tens of thousands of dollars are concerned about the cruise delay and the lack of transparency in the company's actions. They fear the tour may not take place and hope to get their money back.
