Families of fallen Dagestani soldiers denied promised payments - Ukraine's intelligence

Relatives of Russian occupiers from Dagestan who were killed in the war against Ukraine are not receiving compensation from Moscow. Not even funeral expenses are being covered, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reports.
According to Ukrainian sources, the families of dozens of Dagestani occupiers eliminated in Russia’s war against Ukraine have not received the promised “death payments” or any other compensation. They are not even given rubles for burial expenses.
In addition, Russia is failing to provide the overdue financial support owed to the families of deceased Dagestani soldiers.
"This situation once again illustrates Moscow’s true attitude toward the peoples it has subjugated. The so-called federal subjects, particularly in the North Caucasus, have no rights and serve only as a source of cheap or free manpower for the Kremlin’s meat-grinder assaults in its genocidal war against Ukraine," said Andrii Cherniak, a representative of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence.
At the same time, Cherniak noted that such cases could also indicate financial and budgetary crises in Russia, caused by the ongoing war.
Russia’s war losses
Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 890,000 military personnel. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 1,200 Russian military in the past 24 hours.
In February alone, Russia lost 36,570 troops on the front lines - roughly the equivalent of three motorized rifle divisions.
December 2024 marked Russia’s deadliest month, with 48,670 military killed or wounded. Overall, in the past year, Russian losses exceeded 400,000 soldiers.
