On the night of April 22, drones attacked the Russian city of Syzran in the Samara region, according to Russian media and OSINT sources.
Course of the attack
According to the Russian Telegram channel Astra, residents of Syzran captured drones flying over residential buildings on video. Around three in the morning, eyewitnesses heard powerful explosions — more than a dozen of them. Bright flashes were observed over the city.
Using OSINT analysis, it was possible to confirm that the videos were taken at 50 Years of October Avenue in Syzran (the building at 50 Zvezdnaya Street). The Syzran oil refinery is located three kilometers from this location.
Airport closure
Earlier, regional authorities warned of a possible drone attack threat and activated the Carpet plan. In connection with this, Samara's Kurumoch airport temporarily suspended departures and arrivals.
Building collapse and casualties
According to the governor, the attack caused a partial collapse of a section of a residential multi-story building on Astrakhanskaya Street, 8. Search and rescue teams and emergency services are working at the scene.
"Four people have been rescued from the rubble, including one child," the statement said.

According to OSINT sources, the strike occurred due to Russian air defense activity.
Capacity of the Syzran oil refinery
Last year, oil refining at the Syzran refinery fell short of projected targets. Volumes were about 90 thousand barrels per day (4.3 million metric tons per year). Over the past year, the refinery produced 800,000 tons of gasoline, 1.5 million tons of diesel fuel, and 700,000 tons of fuel oil.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on the night of April 21, drones from the SBU's (Security Service of Ukraine) Alpha Special Operations Center attacked the Samara linear production dispatch station in the same region of Russia. As a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out at the facility.
According to preliminary data, five crude oil tanks, each with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, were damaged by the fire.
We also wrote that the fire at the oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapse, following a drone attack, has been ongoing for the fifth day.
