Explosions in Ryazan: Russians report drone attack on oil refinery and fire

On the night of February 24, Russians reported explosions in Ryazan. Local residents claim that unknown drones are attacking an oil refinery, RBC-Ukraine informs, citing Russian Telegram channels.
In particular, the Baza channel wrote at around 2:58 a.m. local time that residents heard several explosions, and air defense systems were allegedly active in the city. According to preliminary data, the target of the unknown drones was an oil refinery.
Russians claim that after several loud explosion sounds, smoke appeared in the area of the facility. Other channels report that a fire broke out at the refinery. A number of images were published on social media, though it was noted that their authenticity could not yet be verified.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation or denial.
Update from 06:37 a.m.
The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, confirmed that a fire was recorded at an industrial facility in the region. According to the regional head, the fire was caused by the fall of "drone debris." However, the governor did not specify in which exact location the facility caught fire.
Attacks on Russian oil refineries
Earlier, on the night of February 5, the Security Service of Ukraine, in coordination with the Defense Forces, successfully struck LLC Allyaneft in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. Following a successful hit, a fire broke out at the site.
As previously reported on the night of February 11, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Defense Intelligence, and Special Operations Forces attacked the Saratov oil refinery, which carried out complex oil processing.
