Explosions in Kursk: Governor named cause
Residents of Kursk hear explosions. Governor of the region Roman Starovoit announced the work of the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to the Telegram channel of the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit.
"Loud sounds heard over Kursk and the Kursk district are the work of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Please remain calm," Starovoit wrote.
Local Telegram channels have posted videos with sounds of explosions.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on the situation.
The Kursk region borders the Ukrainian Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The distance from the Ukrainian borders is approximately 250 km.

On the evening of February 8, an explosion occurred on a gas pipeline in the Perm Krai of the Russian Federation. A fire broke out, and there are casualties.
Additionally, on February 7, a fire broke out at a reinforced concrete structures plant in Belgorod. Russians claimed it was a Ukrainian drone strike.
