Overnight on May 28, explosions were heard near Poltava. Before that, the movement of the missile toward the regional center had been detected, according to the Ukrainian Air Force and Suspilne Poltava.

At 2:22 AM Kyiv time, the military warned of a potential Russian ballistic missile strike coming from the north.

Just a minute later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the movement of an enemy missile toward Poltava. Additionally, at 2:24 AM Kyiv time, the military command urged residents of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region to remain in shelters.

At 2:26 AM Kyiv time, local media in Poltava reported an explosion heard in the Poltava community.

A few minutes later, reports emerged of additional explosions heard in the city of Poltava.

As of now, local authorities have not provided information about the potential consequences of the missile strike.

Overnight drone and missile attack

On the evening of May 27, the Ukrainian Air Force detected several groups of Russian attack drones launched toward Ukraine. The threat from Shahed drones remains active as of the night of May 28.

Additionally, the military issued multiple warnings overnight about potential Russian missile strikes.

The first threat (1:13 AM Kyiv time) came from the north, prompting an air raid alert in Kyiv. The second (1:58 AM Kyiv time) came from the south. The third ballistic missile warning from the north came at 2:22 AM Kyiv time.
