Explosions heard in Kursk, Russia
Explosions were heard overnight in the Russian city of Kursk. Local authorities have traditionally reported downed aerial targets, according to Russian media.
Residents told the Telegram channel Shot that they heard an explosion and saw a bright flash in the sky over Kursk. The loud noise triggered car alarms in several neighborhoods.
Acting Governor of the region, Aleksey Smirnov, reported a missile threat in the Kursk region and urged residents to stay indoors and seek shelter in windowless rooms with solid walls.
RIA Novosti, citing the governor, reported that four missiles allegedly launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed in the sky over the Zheltovodsky and Kurchatovsky districts of the Kursk region.
On the evening of July 24, Russian sources claimed a massive drone attack on Kursk and the surrounding area. According to Russian air defense, 12 drones were reportedly shot down over the city.
