Explosions rocked Kharkiv on the evening of Wednesday, April 2, as the city came under attack by Russian Shahed strike drones for the second time that day, according to the Telegram channel of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

"An explosion in Kharkiv – the city is under attack by Shaheds again," Terekhov reported.

According to him, the strike preliminarily targeted the private sector in the Kyivskyi district. The information is being clarified.

"Another group of strike drones is heading toward Kharkiv. Stay cautious," the mayor added.

Later, Terekhov reported another explosion.

According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, a series of explosions occurred in the city.

According to Terekhov, the enemy has carried out 14 strikes on the city of Kharkiv in the last 40 minutes.

In the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, drone strikes of the Shahed type have been recorded. Fires have broken out at the impact sites.

Updated: Attack consequences clarified

According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv was hit by 14 drone strikes across five locations in the city, all in the Kyivskyi district.

He mentioned that there were no casualties.

"There are minor damages to residential buildings and transport infrastructure," the mayor said.

Attacks on Kharkiv

Earlier today, April 2, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with a Molniya strike drone, hitting a residential building. In the city's Kyivskyi district, three apartment buildings were damaged, with 122 windows shattered.

As a result of the attack, five people were injured, including a child.

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, March was the most difficult month for the city since the beginning of the year, as Russian attacks and destruction have doubled.
