Explosions heard, bridge closed: Russia reports missile attack on Crimea

The temporarily occupied Crimea is under a massive attack by unknown flying objects. Explosions are heard in various parts of the peninsula, and Russian air defense systems are active, according to the Krymskiy veter Telegram channel and the "governor" of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
Around 9:30 PM Kyiv time, Razvozhayev reported that an air raid alert had been declared in Crimea.
Almost immediately after this, monitoring channels began reporting that the peninsula was under a large-scale missile attack. Missiles were reportedly spotted over Sevastopol, Alupka, Sudak, and Feodosia.
In response, the Russians halted maritime transport in the peninsula and even closed the Crimean Bridge. Furthermore, Russia claims that the missiles attacking Crimea are Neptune missiles, and they have already stated their success in shooting them down.
It was also reported that a Russian fighter jet was scrambled from the Saki airfield in Novofedorivka.
Drone attacks in Crimea
Russia has occupied Crimea since 2014. However, in recent months, the peninsula has come under frequent drone attacks. Military facilities, command posts, and air defense systems have been targeted.
Notably, during the night of May 2, powerful explosions were heard in several districts and settlements across Crimea. The peninsula’s military sites and airfields were hit in a massive strike involving attack drones, with an additional assault from sea-based unmanned surface vehicles.
According to partisan sources, the Russian forces are moving military equipment and air defense systems around the peninsula in a chaotic manner in an attempt to avoid Ukrainian airstrikes.
