Sabotage on railways in Russia

In May last year, the number of sabotage incidents in Russia had increased. The most common of these were arson attacks on railroad relay cabinets. Since the beginning of 2023, as of May, 36 such cases have already been reported.

As of the end of October of the same year, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Russian invaders even strengthened the protection of railroad trains. The reason for this was the constant sabotage of railway facilities.

On the night of November 30, 2023, an explosion occurred on the Baikal-Amur Mainline in Buryatia. It was a successful Security Service of Ukraine operation that paralyzed the only major railroad route between Russia and China.
