Explosion reported in Leningrad region of Russia
A powerful explosion occurred in the Leningrad region today, January 26. After that, a column of smoke was seen, according to the Russian Telegram channel Mash.
The explosion occurred in the city of Vyborg, Leningrad region. A video showing white smoke was posted online.
It is currently unknown what caused the explosion. No other circumstances of the incident have been reported.
The city of Vyborg is located about 45 kilometers from the border with Finland. The distance to St. Petersburg is about 140 kilometers.

Attack on oil terminal
As a reminder, on the night of January 21, a powerful fire broke out in the Leningrad region, namely in the port of the village of Ust-Luga. According to RBC-Ukraine's sources, it was a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine.
SBU drones hit the target, after which the fire engulfed the Ust-Luga Oil oil terminal. The terminal processes fuel, which is also supplied to Russian troops.
Bloomberg wrote that after the SSU attacks, sea shipments of crude oil from Russia dropped to a minimum. According to RBC-Ukraine's sources, Russia was forced to redeploy its air defense system from the front after the attack on the Ust-Luga Oil terminal.
