The Russians have reported new explosions on the railway. This time, they occurred on the tracks in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation, according to the Russian Telegram channel Baza.

The incident occurred at the 25th kilometer of the Yevdakovo–Saguny section. The Russians claim that allegedly, no one was injured as a result of the explosion. However, they acknowledge that the railway track was damaged.

The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, confirmed the explosion. He reported to the Russians that he had sent “emergency services and repair crews” to the site.

However, the rail and the sleepers were still damaged. It is reported that the hole in the track was allegedly "noticed in time by the driver of one of the trains," which was traveling this route.

Due to the explosion on the tracks, the movement of as many as 19 trains was delayed. Later, the governor announced the alleged "restoration of traffic."

"Thanks to the train driver for his vigilance, and to the special services and railway workers for their coordinated and prompt work," Gusev was quoted as saying by pro-Kremlin media.

Meanwhile, the FSB has already stated that the tracks "were damaged as a result of a detonation." The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a case under the so-called article of terrorism.

Train explosions in Russia

As a reminder, on May 25 in the Belgorod region, a train ran over an explosive device, resulting in an explosion.

The governor of the Russian region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, then stated that the device had been planted under the tracks in the Novooskolsky district. Due to the explosion, rail traffic was stopped, and the contact network of the tracks was damaged.

And in September 2024, a freight train derailed in the Belgorod region. This happened after an explosion in the "Volokonovka – Novy Oskol" section. At the time, RBC-Ukraine sources in the special services reported that the mining and detonation were carried out during a joint operation of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After this, 11 wagons, along with the locomotive, derailed.
