An explosion occurred at the Rheinmetall military plant in Spain on January 30. Six people were injured, EFE reports.

According to the news agency, six employees aged between 30 and 52 were injured, one of them seriously, as a result of an explosion at the warehouse of the Rheinmetall German arms plant in the Javalí Viejo area.

"The incident occurred around 4:20 PM," the journalists note.

Currently, it is known that three ambulances transported a 30-year-old man and another 42-year-old man with burns to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in El Palmar, while a 40-year-old man with bruises was taken to Morales Meseguer in Murcia, along with another 42-year-old man who had inhaled smoke.

A 52-year-old man sustained a head injury, and another 41-year-old man received assistance for injuries at the scene of the accident. The Occupational Safety Institute is currently conducting an investigation at the site.

What Rheinmetall is known for

Rheinmetall is a German conglomerate, founded on April 13, 1889. It is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment and armaments in Germany and Europe.

The company primarily focuses on producing military vehicles, weaponry, and automotive components. As reported, Rheinmetall will build a total of four weapon manufacturing plants in Ukraine, one of which is already operational.

In particular, Rheinmetall has received an order to build a shell production plant in Ukraine. Additionally, Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall have opened the first workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles in Ukraine.
