Explosion in occupied Luhansk: Strike hits mothballed military base
Explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Luhansk this morning. Strikes hit an area where a mothballed military base was previously located, according to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Artem Lysohor.
In videos released by local residents, thick smoke can be seen following the strike, after which a powerful explosion occurred.
According to Lysohor, the enemy may have been storing ammunition at the strike site to supply it to the front line.
"It is also known that traffic near Gorky Park, a recreational area for residents in Luhansk, is currently blocked. However, the Russians cynically place weapons and equipment depots there — closer to the civilian population, as human lives mean nothing to them," he adds.
Explosions in occupied territories of Ukraine
On October 18, a car exploded in the center of temporarily occupied Luhansk. Preliminary reports indicate that a Russian major was affected by the incident.
Such incidents are not new. For example, on October 2, a car explosion also occurred in the temporarily occupied city of Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region. It was later reported that the explosion resulted in the elimination of traitor judge Vitalii Lomeiko.
