Explosion in Moscow may have injured daughter of Russian general, reports say

A 25-year-old woman believed to be Maria Chaiko, the daughter of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander General Aleksandr Chaiko, may have been among those injured in the restaurant explosion in Moscow, according to the Russian independent outlet Verstka.

The outlet says a source close to the management of the Balzi Rossi restaurant said Maria Chaiko was among those injured in the blast.
Journalists also pointed to lists of the injured published by the security-linked Russian media outlets REN TV and 112.
The lists include a 25-year-old woman identified as Maria P., who reportedly sustained an open traumatic brain injury.
Trail in leaked databases
Verstka noted that Maria Chaiko is also 25 years old and appears in leaked databases under the surname Peredrii. The publication says the records for Chaiko and Peredrii match in both date of birth and residential address, while phone contact databases identify her as "Maria Chaiko" and "fiancée."

Verstka outlet suggests that Peredrii may be the surname of the general's daughter's husband.
What happened with Maria Chaiko's husband
The list of those injured also includes a 27-year-old identified as Daniil P. According to leaked databases, he may be Daniil Peredrii, who is also 27 years old.
The outlet also found that one of Maria Chaiko's social media accounts appears among his online friends.
Details of Moscow restaurant explosion
The explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant near the Stalin-era skyscraper on Kudrinskaya Square occurred on the evening of August 1, sparking a fire inside the venue.
Initial reports confirmed several fatalities and dozens of injuries.
Russian authorities later said the explosive device had been brought to the restaurant by a woman who was stopped by a security guard and denied entry.
Officials ruled out a gas leak in the kitchen and estimated the blast's force at about 1 kg of TNT.
As previously reported, the death toll has since risen to five, and Russia Federation's Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the article covering a terrorist attack.
Investigators suggested that the explosive device was hidden inside a gift box and detonated remotely.
