Explosion at chemical plant near Moscow kills 7 as workshop collapses

Initially, at least three explosions were heard at the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant. It later became known that an entire workshop had collapsed, resulting in fatalities, according to the SHOT Telegram channel.

A series of powerful explosions rang out in the Moscow region: a column of smoke rose into the sky in the Krasnozavodsk area.
The emergency occurred in one of the workshops of the Krasnozavodsk Chemical Plant, SHOT writes.

It later became known that seven people died as a result of the explosion.
According to SHOT, employees were in Workshop No. 4, which completely collapsed.
According to survivors, there were more workers present there. Currently, rescuers are attempting to localize open fires at the plant.
In 2025, the plant was attacked twice by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It specializes in UAV countermeasures and is part of the Rostec structure.
Drones massively attacked Moscow and the region overnight on September 20. A fire likely broke out in warehouse facilities in the village of Sofyino.
Furthermore, Moscow had already described one attack as one of the largest in years of Ukrainian drone strikes - referring to the strike on the night of September 18.
