Explosion and fire reported near oil refinery in Tambov region
In the Tambov region, officials reported a drone attack and a fire. A local oil refinery is located near the site of the incident, according to Astra.
Tambov region Governor Maxim Yegorov stated that after midnight local time, drones were reported in the Michurinsk municipal district.
"Currently, 11 drones are known to have been involved. A single fire resulting from an 'explosion' was promptly extinguished by the forces of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Tambov region," he wrote on Telegram.
Reports from Russia indicated a fire in the area of Novonikolskoye village. The blaze broke out at the Transneft-Druzhba dispatch station. The Michurinsk oil refinery is also located in this village.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense intercepted 51 drones overnight. Among them, 18 were over the Tambov region, 16 over Belgorod, four each over Bryansk, Lipetsk, and Oryol regions, three over Voronezh, and one over Kursk and the Sea of Azov.
Ukraine is "hunting" Russian oil refineries
It is worth noting that Ukrainian defenders have repeatedly targeted Russian oil refineries that supply fuel to the occupying forces. The military has used drones to attack refineries in Russia and on occupied territories, including Crimea.
For instance, on the night of October 7, the Defense Forces attacked an oil terminal in Feodosia. This was one of the largest terminals in Crimea for the transshipment of petroleum products for the Russian army, owned by a close associate of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The fire at the oil depot lasted nearly a week, with tanks exploding for several consecutive days on the terminal's premises.
