President of the European Council António Costa arrived in Kyiv on December 1. He was not alone on his visit to the Ukrainian capital, according to his Twitter.

"From day one of the war, the EU has stood by the side of Ukraine. From day one of our mandate, we are reaffirming our unwavering support to the Ukrainian people," he wrote.

Costa also noted that he arrived in Kyiv accompanied by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi.

Meanwhile, Josep Borrell confirmed the visit, stating that the key message of this trip to Kyiv is that the European Union wants Ukraine to win this war.

"We will do whatever it takes for that," she stated.

On November 27, the European Parliament approved the new composition of the European Commission, led by President Ursula von der Leyen. It was announced that the new College of the European Commission would begin its work on December 1.

Recall, in July, the European Parliament elected Ursula von der Leyen as President of the European Commission for her second term in office.
