European Commission President ahead of summit with Zelenskyy: 'Weakness breeds more war'

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on X assured Ukraine of Europe’s support, stating that it could lead to a just and lasting peace.
"The path to peace is strength. Weakness breeds more war," she stated.
The European Commission President made this statement on her way to London for the Ukraine summit. She emphasized that she was heading to the UK to express Europe's continued support for Ukraine, which could lead to a just and lasting peace in the country.
"We will support Ukraine, while undertaking a surge in European defence," Ursula von der Leyen added.
Summit in London
Today, March 2, the Ukraine summit will take place in London, called by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also attending, having arrived in London the day before.
Leaders from France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Canada, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Romania, Turkey’s foreign minister, NATO's secretary general, and the presidents of the European Commission and European Council will also participate.
Ahead of the summit, Starmer announced preparations for a plan regarding Ukraine. According to him, the UK and France will work on a plan with Ukraine, which will then be presented to the United States.
