Senior European diplomats to hold nuclear talks with Iran in Geneva on Friday, June 20, Reuters reports.

A German diplomatic source told Reuters that the foreign ministers of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the EU's top diplomat will hold nuclear talks with their Iranian counterpart on Friday in Geneva.

According to the source, the ministers will first meet with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas at the German consulate in Geneva, followed by a joint meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister.

It is noted that the negotiations were agreed upon with the United States.

Nuclear deal with Iran

The US has so far failed to reach a new nuclear agreement with Iran. As the process dragged on, Israel launched strikes on Iranian territory.

Reports also indicate that US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Vice President JD Vance may discuss the nuclear issue with Iranian officials this week. If the meeting goes ahead, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is likely to represent Tehran in the talks.
