European countries have already allocated over 23 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine this year. This exceeds the amount from last year, Reuters reports, citing EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

In particular, when she was asked whether she had received the necessary clarity regarding the security measures of a Coalition of the Willing for Ukraine, her response was crystal clear: "No."

When asked to elaborate on this matter, Kaja Kallas added: "I mean, the different Member States, like I said, have different opinions and the discussions are still ongoing."

EU foreign policy chief also diplomatically urged the US administration to exert more pressure on Russia, stating: "At the same time, we are already four weeks into the time when Ukraine agreed to an unconditional ceasefire, and we have not seen any positive signs on the Russian side. So, we really need to put the pressure on Russia, and I think it is the credibility of all the ones who have said that we need the killing to stop."

On April 9, European defense ministers held new talks about the potential deployment of troops in Ukraine. Currently, about six countries have stated they could provide troops after a ceasefire. Among them are the United Kingdom, France, and the Baltic countries.

However, several countries are demanding the participation of the US in the operation.

Since Donald Trump took office in the White House, the US has not provided new packages of military aid to Ukraine. However, aid approved under President Joe Biden continues to arrive. Washington, in general, has distanced itself from providing aid to Ukraine, taking a more neutral stance.

Earlier, on April 9, Kaja Kalas stated that by the end of 2025, the European Union could transfer 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine.
