"I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week," he added. "I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time."

ALS is a devastating diagnosis with no cure

ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disorder that impacts nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to loss of muscle control.

Symptoms often begin with muscle twitching or limb weakness and can progress to difficulty speaking, walking, or even breathing. According to the Mayo Clinic and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, while life expectancy is generally three to five years post-diagnosis, some individuals live significantly longer.

Dane joins a list of public figures who have been diagnosed with the disease, including Stephen Hawking, Aaron Lazar, Roberta Flack, and Kenneth Mitchell.

As he prepares for the production of Euphoria season 3, which starts April 14, fans around the world are showing their support.
