EU to start talks on 12th package of sanctions against Russia
Confessionals between the European Commission and EU envoys on the details of the 12th package of sanctions against Russia are set to commence this weekend. The process is expected to conclude in November, according to Brussels correspondent for Radio Free Europe, Ricard Jozwiak.
"So-called 'confessionals' between the European Commission and EU ambassadors on the 12th package of sanctions on Russia starts this weekend with a view to reach agreement in November, though December might be more likely," Jozwiak said.
The 12th package of sanctions against Russia
Back in early July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged the European Union to begin work on the 12th package of sanctions against Russia, including Rosatom.
Recently, Bloomberg reported that the European Union is gearing up to contend over what should be included in its 12th package of sanctions due to Russia's war with Ukraine.
Estonia's government recently approved proposals for the 12th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, including suggestions for a complete trade embargo.
