The European Union will speed up the provision of military assistance and energy equipment to Ukraine to restore the energy system after Russian attacks, stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba following a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.

"During today's meeting in Brussels with EU foreign ministers, I emphasized the urgent need to deliver the already promised military aid, particularly air defense systems. I appreciate my colleagues' willingness to take the necessary steps to accelerate these deliveries," Kuleba stated.

He stressed that the EU is a crucial pillar of the coalition supporting Ukraine and welcomed the intention of several EU member states to respond to Ukraine's call and advocate for lifting restrictions on the use of weapons against all legitimate military targets in Russia during their bilateral dialogues with other coalition members.

"I am also grateful to the EU member states that have pledged to intensify their efforts and provide additional equipment and resources for Ukraine's energy system," the Foreign Minister added.

Kuleba also assured partners that Ukraine is fulfilling its obligations on the path to EU membership, including the historic ratification of the Rome Statute.

"We count on the support of member states in advancing the negotiations on Ukraine's EU accession at the appropriate pace," the Minister noted.

Meeting in Brussels

Today, August 29, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited Brussels to participate in an informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers.

The main topics of the discussions were strengthening the EU's military support for Ukraine and enhancing air defense capabilities. The ministers also discussed advancing Ukraine's EU accession negotiations, involvement in the peace formula, and the path to the second Peace Summit.

Additionally, as noted by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, the EU will insist on fulfilling commitments to provide aid to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets, regardless of the issues raised by the United States.
