EU pushes for Zelenskyy seat at Trump-Putin Alaska talks - Politico

The European Union wants Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to take part in the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Politico reports.
According to the publication, European leaders will apparently not be allowed to participate in the Trump-Putin talks. Therefore, they are spending much time in discussions among themselves.
At the same time, the EU's top diplomat convened the foreign ministers of EU countries for an emergency meeting, which also included Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
"The goal, at this point, is securing a seat at the table for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Alaska," Politico specified.
Trump-Putin meeting
The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin is scheduled for Friday, August 15.
Trump wants to ask Putin to end the war. According to the US leader, a positive outcome of such a meeting could be a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
At the same time, Trump stated that Zelenskyy's participation in such a summit is not planned.
The US leader wants Putin and Zelenskyy to meet later.
