EU lists actions that would indicate Russia’s willingness to end the war

Russia must prove its willingness to end the war against Ukraine by demonstrating goodwill. In particular, this includes the return of deported Ukrainian children, states EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, according to The Guardian.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of European foreign ministers in Madrid, Kaja Kallas called on Russia to demonstrate "goodwill." In her view, this could be done by:
-
returning Ukrainian children deported to Russia;
-
releasing prisoners of war.
Kallas also urged Moscow to agree to a full ceasefire and called on the United States to pressure the Kremlin to end the full-scale war.
Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized that Russia must give a clear response to the United States on whether it actually wants to continue the peace process.
Peace talks
US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other US officials have claimed that Russia allegedly wants to end the war against Ukraine.
However, Moscow has so far refused even a full ceasefire with Ukraine without additional conditions. In particular, Russian President Vladimir Putin demands that Ukraine completely halt mobilization during the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, according to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Russia plans to end the war by 2026.
