EU high representative confident Ukraine can win war with their support
EU high representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas is confident that the European Union's support for Ukraine will help win the war against Russia. Kallas made such a statement at the annual conference of the EU defense agency.
In particular, in her speech, the EU high representative reminded the audience that the EU had already allocated €134 billion to Ukraine. Of this amount, €50 billion was directed to weapons, and the number of Ukrainian soldiers trained by EU countries will reach 75,000 by the end of January.
Kallas also mentioned that the EU is working on a 16th sanctions package against Russia and expressed a desire to explore using frozen Russian assets to assist Ukraine.
"There is absolutely no doubt that we can do more to help Ukraine. With our help, they can win the war," Kallas said.
According to the EU high representative, the only language Russian leader Vladimir Putin understands is the language of force, and the EU has that strength. The politician pointed out that the collective economy of the EU member states is 17 times larger than Russia's.
Kallasa emphasized that the EU must show Putin that he will lose and "stop him before he attacks any of us."
EU support
Earlier, the EU diplomat Josep Borrell stated that the EU is nearing its promise to supply Ukraine with artillery shells for a year. Deliveries are almost at the target level.
The European politician also mentioned that the European Union will diplomatically pressure North Korea over sending military personnel to fight in Ukraine.
