EU Commission to provide loan of €35 billion to Ukraine
The European Commission will provide Ukraine with a €35 billion loan. Kyiv will receive it as part of the commitments of the G7, according to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
“Relentless Russian attacks means Ukraine needs continued EU support. The European Commission will provide a loan of up to 35 billion euros to Ukraine as part of the G7 pledge. This is another major EU contribution to the Ukraine’s recovery,” she writes.
According to von der Leyen, this is another major contribution of the EU to Ukraine's recovery.
Ursula von der Leyen's visit to Kyiv
On September 20, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv. This is her 8th visit to Ukraine.
A few hours earlier, the Financial Times reported that the EU plans to provide Ukraine with a €35 billion loan. These funds will be taken from the future profits from the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank.
During Ursula von der Leyen's visit to Kyiv, she will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
