EU already provided €108 billion in aid to Ukraine, - Ursula von der Leyen
Ukraine has already received 108 billion euros in aid from the European Union, stated President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
"The EU has stood by Ukraine since day 1 of Russia's war of aggression. With our Member States, we have provided support of almost €108 billion," she said.
Von der Leyen emphasized that Ukraine will win this war for survival and the EU "will stand with Ukraine and its people for as long as it takes".
What preceded it
On August 6, the EU Council decided to disburse the first regular tranche under the Ukraine Facility. It is about 4.2 billion euros. These funds will be used to support macrofinancial stability.
The state budget of Ukraine has already received € 7.9 billion under the Ukraine Facility program. It is expected that in 2024 the EU budget support will reach €16 billion.
