Russians hit multiple energy and infrastructure targets in three Chernihiv districts, leaving tens of thousands without power, according to Chernihiv OVA head Viacheslav Chaus on Telegram.

Chaus reported that on October 19 alone, Russian forces struck several energy facilities and infrastructure across the region. Nine settlements in three districts—Koriukivka, Nizhyn, and Pryluky — were hit.

Fires broke out at the impact sites but were quickly extinguished by firefighters. Energy crews are already working to restore electricity where possible.

Chaus noted that Nizhyn district saw another strike on the railway, while in Pryluky, an agricultural enterprise was hit. The Chernihiv regional emergency service released footage showing the aftermath of the attacks.

Shelling in Chernihiv and the region

Chernihiv region faces daily attacks from Russian forces, with drones regularly targeting energy and critical infrastructure.

On the evening and night of October 18, Russian drones struck Pryluky district, damaging an infrastructure facility and a fire and rescue station.

Earlier, on October 16, drones hit Nizhyn, targeting a logistics facility and a multi-story residential building.

The day before, a drone crash in Chernihiv caused a fire at a civil infrastructure site.
