Enemy assaults every 10-15 minutes: Ukrainian military describes situation in Kursk region
Russian forces continue their attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from the Kursk region. Sometimes their assaults occur every 10-15 minutes, stated the spokesperson of the Siversk Operational and Tactical Group, Vadym Mysnyk.
He noted that around 45,000-50,000 Russian soldiers are currently concentrated in the Kursk region. Among them are marine brigades, including the 155th Pacific Fleet and the 810th Black Sea Fleet, an airborne division, special forces battalion units, and assault battalions.
According to Mysnyk, the goal of the Russian army is to dislodge the Ukrainian defenders, which is why the fighting is extremely intense, despite heavy enemy losses.
The spokesperson clarified that the Russian forces attempt to attack Ukrainian defenders with military equipment, and once this equipment is destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they use small infantry groups.
"We observe that there is a 10-15 minute interval between the deployment of assault groups," he stated.
Russia uses North Korean soldiers
In the Kursk region, Russia not only uses its own soldiers but also North Korean troops in an attempt to dislodge Ukrainian defenders.
According to the latest information from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 11,000 North Korean soldiers have been spotted in the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, as noted by Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, North Korean soldiers have already participated in combat with Ukrainian defenders.
