Enemy agent caught red-handed by Security Service while targeting soldier in Odesa

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prevented a terrorist attack in Odesa planned under the direction of Russia’s FSB. The enemy agent intended to blow up a Ukrainian soldier, according to the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
According to the intelligence agency, a 31-year-old local resident planned to plant an explosive device with shrapnel elements in a residential area near a children’s playground.
Case details
The offender was caught red-handed — immediately after placing a homemade explosive device at the site of the planned attack.

The investigation found that the agent had been recruited through pro-Russian Telegram channels, where he was offered easy money. At first, he set fire to a military vehicle, after which he received instructions for the terrorist attack.
The target of the attack was a Ukrainian officer. The explosive device was intended to be detonated remotely via mobile phone.

According to the plan of the Russian intelligence services, the terrorist attack was intended to cause both physical losses and an informational effect. However, the SBU detected the threat in advance and fully documented the preparation.
Legal consequences
The detainee has already been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code:

Part 2, Article 15; Part 2, Article 258 (attempted terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy);

Part 2, Article 28; Part 2, Article 194 (intentional destruction of property by arson committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy);

Part 2, Article 28; Part 1, Article 114-1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
He has been taken into custody without the right to bail.
As a reminder, the SBU recently uncovered a mole who worked as an electrician-driver in one of the military units and was adjusting enemy strikes on Ukraine’s central region.
Shortly afterward, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a traitor from Kyiv who was preparing a series of terrorist attacks in the Ukrainian capital.
The SBU also reported suspicion against a Russian who shot two Ukrainian servicemen and was later taken prisoner by Ukrainian forces.
