On an EasyJet flight from Luton to Glasgow, a passenger began shouting Allahu Akbar and claimed there was a bomb on board, prompting an emergency landing, according to The Telegraph.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man came out of the restroom, raised his hands, and declared there was a bomb on the plane.

“Stop the plane. Find the bomb on the plane. Death to America. Death to Trump,” he shouted.

After that, he shouted "Allahu Akbar." Three passengers restrained the man while the crew retrieved his bags from the overhead compartment.

The plane made an emergency landing, where police were already waiting on the ground.

According to Scottish authorities, the 41-year-old man was detained on the spot and remains in custody.

Notably, the incident occurred while US President Donald Trump was on a four-day visit to Scotland.

“At this time we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved. We are aware of videos circulating online and these are being assessed by counter terrorism officers,” the police said.

Trump in Scotland

US President Donald Trump traveled to Scotland for a four-day visit. During his stay, he is holding political meetings and playing golf.

After arriving on Friday evening, he told reporters he would meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, whom he called a respected leader.

Their meeting took place on July 27. Trump and von der Leyen signed a long-awaited trade agreement that reduced tariffs on European goods to 15%. The US president called the deal the largest and most historic ever.
