Police in Moldova recorded organized transportation of voters to polling stations. Such cases have been reported in Moldova and abroad.

“Police have identified cases of organized transportation of voters to polling stations. There are reasonable indications of organized transportation of voters both abroad and on the territory of the state,” the statement said.

The Moldovan government Telegram channel Prima Sursă said that an investigation is underway and evidence is being collected in connection with the air transportation of voters from Russia to Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye.

Law enforcement agencies urge Moldovan citizens to report such incidents to the 112 service.

Organized transportation of voters on election day in Moldova is subject to fines.

Elections in Moldova

On Sunday, November 3, the second round of the presidential election is taking place in Moldova. The current leader of the country, Maia Sandu (a pro-European candidate), and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo (supported by the pro-Russian Party of Socialists) are running for the presidency.

In the first round, Sandu won 42.45% of the vote, while her opponent received 25.98%. The expert commented on RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel on the eve of the vote, saying that it was too early to talk about Sandu's landslide victory.

Today's vote will set the tone for next year's parliamentary elections.

Moldova accuses Russia of interfering in the presidential election and trying to disrupt the vote.
