E-residency for foreigners: Ukraine's govt defines mechanism (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that defines the mechanism to obtain residency for foreigners online, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Such a decision is a step towards e-residency. It will allow foreigners to do businesses and pay taxes in Ukraine online.
Obtaining resident status will be possible without visiting Ukraine.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation specifies what the resolution regulates:
- The acquisition and cancellation of e-resident status.
- Ensuring the protection of personal data and control by the tax service and banks.
- No need to visit Ukraine for registration.
The service for e-residency is planned to be launched after the information system development and testing.
E-residency
The Ukrainian parliament adopted a law on e-residency back in October 2022. It provides a special status for foreigners that opens up the opportunity to do business in Ukraine.
