Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that Donald Trump is the best chance for achieving peace in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of decisive US actions to end the war, particularly in the context of complex negotiations with Russia, Sky News informs.

He highlighted that US President Donald Trump represents the greatest opportunity for peace and that his approach to international negotiations, while unconventional for European leaders, has its advantages.

Duda compared Trump's economic tactics to "shock therapy," noting that the US president acts in the interest of American taxpayers rather than European allies.

This means that allies must remain calm and adapt to the new transatlantic approach to negotiations.

Speaking about peace talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Duda expressed confidence that only Trump can force Russia to stop its aggression against Ukraine.

According to Duda, during Trump’s first term, he defeated the "Nord Stream 2" project and thwarted Russia’s energy ambitions through its state energy giant, Gazprom.

The Polish president also mentioned the importance of strengthening security in Europe, particularly the plans for establishing the "Fort Trump" military base in Poland, which is set to become a key element of the country’s defense strategy.

Despite some changes in US plans regarding the withdrawal of the base in Rzeszów, Duda is confident that Poland remains an important partner for the US in terms of security.

Duda believes that despite challenges, Poland must stay at the forefront of international security and continue collaborating with the US to bolster its defense.

As a reminder, Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that peacekeeping forces from the UN may be needed in Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement. Both Ukraine and Russia might agree to this.

According to Duda, he is closely monitoring all signals and listening to all proposals regarding sustainable peace in Ukraine, but he is not rushing to make decisions. In particular, the president believes that the issue of sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine needs to be thoroughly discussed.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump did not rule out canceling existing tariffs for several trade partners.

Trump stated that he might offer some exceptions to his 10% tariff for most of the US's trading partners. However, he insisted that it is "quite close" to the minimum level for countries seeking to negotiate trade agreements.
