On the night of July 4, Moscow came under attack by unknown drones. The raid began in the evening and has been ongoing for several hours, states the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

Judging by the official's posts, the attack began at approximately 10:45 PM. At that time, Sobyanin reported that air defense forces had destroyed a drone that was flying toward Moscow.

At the same time, in the next post, he wrote simply about the destruction of three drones. Since Sobyanin did not specify whether the drones were flying toward Moscow, they likely reached the Russian capital directly.

As of now, the attack has been ongoing for more than three hours. According to Sobyanin, air defense forces have allegedly shot down a total of 13 drones.

Russian public channels also claim that the capital's airports are currently not receiving or sending flights. In particular, restrictions have been introduced at least at Vnukovo Airport.

What else is known

Recently, there was media coverage that Ukraine is striking the last two oil refineries supplying Moscow with fuel.

In particular, it became known that Ukraine has taken the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region out of operation. It is one of the main suppliers of fuel for Moscow.

Systematic Ukrainian strikes on Russian radars in the Bryansk region have opened up new opportunities for Ukrainian drones. In particular, this refers to the targeting of radars that control the airspace toward the Russian capital.
