In the city of Tolyatti, Samara region, Russia, drones attacked the large chemical enterprise KuibyshevAzot, according to OSINT channels.
Videos and photos, taken by eyewitnesses and others, have been shared on social media. Most footage shows thick, dark-gray columns of smoke, suggesting that several fire hotspots formed after the drone strike.
This is the second attack on this chemical plant in Tolyatti this month. The previous drone raid occurred on March 11.
KuibyshevAzot is a major Russian chemical plant specializing in nitrogen chemistry and polymer production. The enterprise produces ammonia, urea, and ammonium nitrate, which are primarily used as fertilizers in agriculture.
The plant also manufactures caprolactam, a key raw material for producing nylon, as well as sulfuric acid and other chemical products.
In addition, the facility produces polyamide plastics and synthetic fibers, used in the automotive industry, textiles, and electronics. Overall, it is a full-cycle enterprise that converts raw materials into both basic chemicals and finished products.
On March 11, KuibyshevAzot in Tolyatti, Samara region, was also attacked by drones, which reportedly caused a fire.
Drone attacks on such industrial sites in Russia have become regular occurrences. For example, RBC-Ukraine recently reported that one of the world’s largest fertilizer producers, Nevinnomyssk Azot, was also struck by drones.
