During the night of June 6, drones attacked the important Progress weapons factory in the city of Michurinsk, which is involved in the production of missile and aviation equipment for Russia. The plant sustained significant damage, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Russian media.

That night, several drones attacked Russia. UAVs were flying in the direction of Moscow, Engels, and Michurinsk (Tambov region).

The attack on the Progress plant in Michurinsk, Tambov region, occurred around 2:15 a.m. local time.

According to preliminary information, the facility was hit, likely by a single drone. Emergency workers are already on the scene, battling a fire. As a result, access roads to the plant have been temporarily closed.

There are also reports of casualties, but details about their condition have not yet been released.

This attack became one of the serious blows to Russia's strategic infrastructure and could significantly impact the country's military industry.

The Progress weapons factory is a key enterprise in Russia's missile and aviation sectors. The plant specializes in the production of high-tech equipment for aviation and missile control systems, as well as electrical products for civilian use and equipment for gas and oil pipelines.

The plant's products are used in aircraft, helicopters, and missile systems, performing key control and guidance functions.

According to the reports, Russia plans to produce 2 million FPV drones this year for the war against Ukraine. Moscow also intends to manufacture 30,000 long-range drones and decoy drones.

Earlier, Ukraine's Defense Minister addressed the allies after the Russian shelling of Kherson and Pryluky. Umerog emphasized that the daily Russian attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities are a deliberate destruction of the Ukrainian people and the country, and he called on the West to respond decisively to the aggressor.
