Unknown drones attacked the Oryol region of Russia overnight on December 22. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the area, according to the Russian Telegram channels.

Residents said they heard around 10-12 explosions over the city of Oryol during the night. They also reported seeing bright flashes on the outskirts of the city. Later, footage of the fire began circulating online, allegedly showing the blaze at the oil refinery.

A short time later, the governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klychkov, confirmed that drones had attacked the region. He added that a fire had broken out at a fuel infrastructure facility in the village of Stalnoy Kon, Oryol Municipal District.

"Please remain calm. The attack is still ongoing. There is currently no information on casualties or injuries. Emergency services are already on-site and are taking measures to extinguish the fire," Klychkov added.

Notably, a week ago, on the night of December 14, drones also attacked an oil depot in the city of Oryol. Later, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces officially confirmed the attack, stating that one of Russia's largest oil product terminals had been targeted.
