Strike drones attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, 15 kilometers from the Kremlin, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation, and social media posts.
Strike drones attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district.
A fire broke out at the facility—video footage from the scene has been circulating on Russian Telegram channels, and intelligence analysts have confirmed the strike.
The Moscow Oil Refinery is Moscow’s largest oil refinery. It supplies about 35% of the capital’s fuel market: 40% of gasoline, 50% of diesel fuel for the region, as well as fuel for Moscow’s airports.
Even before the strikes were confirmed, the refinery had urgently relieved pressure in the system—the facility was preparing for possible hits. Serhii Sternenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, reported this.

Putin is no guarantor of safety for Muscovites
"Moscow is under attack; the Moscow oil refinery is on fire. Although Putin has pulled virtually all key air defense and missile defense systems to Moscow, this does not save the Russians. Putin is no guarantor of safety for Muscovites," Kovalenko writes.

Sobyanin reports on downed drones
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported a massive drone attack on the Russian capital. According to him, about 60 drones were shot down.
Emergency services are working at the sites where so-called debris fell. Later, Sobyanin confirmed that the Moscow Oil Refinery sustained damage after being hit by a drone.
The day before, drones struck an oil depot in the village of Poltavskaya in the Krasnodar Krai region. The facility serves as a logistics hub between Lukoil’s refineries and the region’s network of gas stations.
