At night on November 13, drones targeted an oil storage facility in the Russian Penza region, damaging a storage tank, Astra reports.

In particular, the governor of the Penza region informed that three UAVs had attacked the area, claiming they had fallen in a forested territory with no casualties.

However, online reports suggest that the drones actually struck the "Kombinat Utes Rosrezervu" oil storage facility located in the village of Montazhne, the Penza region. In addition, Russian media have shared footage of the damage to the storage tank at the site.

The "Kombinat Utes Rosrezervu" is involved in storing and warehousing oil and petroleum products.

The city of Penza is located in the west of Russia. Its population is around half a million, and it is over 700 km from the Ukrainian border.

Attacks on Russian oil storage facilities

Ukrainian intelligence services have conducted a series of strikes on Russian oil refineries, storage bases, and other key facilities supporting Russian military operations.

Recently, drones of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense struck an oil refinery in the Russian Saratov. Our sources reported that the drones hit one of the refinery's processing units and storage tanks for fuel oil.

According to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, three Russian refineries have partially halted operations due to the Western sanctions. Some of these facilities were also attacked by Ukrainian forces.
