Drones attack Moscow and region as powerful explosions reported

Strike drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region. Targets allegedly were shot down and debris fell in the area, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and local public channels.
“Air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense repelled an attack of seven drones flying toward Moscow. Emergency services are working at the site of the debris fall,” he said.
About an hour ago, Sheremetyevo Airport was closed due to the drone threat. Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency) stated that the airport is not receiving or dispatching flights.
Local public channels published footage of the attack and the interception of the targets.
According to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel, an airbase in Kubinka, near Moscow, is on fire.
Drone attacks on Russia
In recent days, strike drone attacks on various regions of Russia have intensified.
During the night of May 6, strike drones attacked Moscow, the Moscow region, and four other regions of the country. A "Carpet" plan was declared at Moscow airports.
In the afternoon of May 6, drones flying toward the Russian capital were also detected.
Last weekend, drones struck the Strela plant in the Bryansk region, an enterprise that produces goods for the defense-industrial complex.
