Drone strike hits Kharkiv, leaving one dead and one injured

A Russian drone struck a private house in Kharkiv, killing one person, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
"A Shahed drone struck the Kholodnohirskyi district," Terekhov wrote.
According to him, the strike hit a private house, sparking a fire at the scene.
Later, the Kharkiv mayor reported that one person had been killed and another injured as a result of the enemy attack.
Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov clarified that the 20-year-old woman was killed.
He also said that another woman was injured.
"Medics are providing all necessary assistance," Syniehubov added.
Strikes on Kharkiv
As previously reported, Russian forces overnight on January 18 once again launched drones across Ukraine. UAVs were recorded in several regions, including the Kharkiv region.
In addition, throughout Saturday, January 17, Russian troops deliberately targeted energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and the surrounding region. Critical facilities were hit, posing risks to heating and electricity supply amid severe weather conditions.
Late on January 17, Russian forces again attacked Kharkiv, with at least two impacts recorded. The city is regularly targeted using drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and other weapons.
Earlier that day, Russian forces also struck critical infrastructure in Kharkiv, injuring three people. The attack was reportedly carried out using multiple launch rocket systems, likely Tornado-S.
