A drone was spotted near US President Donald Trump's plane on Sunday, March 29, prompting helicopters to be deployed for the search, according to Fox News journalist Nick Sortor.
"Helicopters have been dispatched to investigate a drone incursion near Air Force One in West Palm Beach," the journalist wrote.
Sortor noted that a ground stop was issued at the airport while helicopters searched the area.

Assassination attempts on Trump
US President Donald Trump has faced multiple assassination attempts in recent years. The most notable incident occurred during a campaign rally in the summer of 2024, when he was shot in the ear with a rifle.
In October 2025, the US Secret Service discovered a suspicious "sniper position" near Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, which could have had a clear view of where the president would exit Air Force One.
Earlier this year, in February 2026, a man was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to shoot Trump on a golf course in 2024.
