A strike drone attacked the government building of Russia’s Belgorod region this morning, August 14. The facade and windows of the multi-story administrative building were damaged, Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reports.
“A drone just struck the government building. Minor damage, everything can be fixed,” Gladkov said.
Drone strikes on Russia
In recent months, the number of drone strikes on Russian industrial and military facilities has significantly increased. For example, on the morning of August 13, Russians complained that an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban had been attacked by drones.
That same day, August 13, an unknown drone attacked Belgorod. It was likely that the strike hit a helipad used by Russian forces. The attack caused a large fire.
In addition, on August 10, during a special operation by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, the LUKOIL-Ukhtaneftepererabotka oil refinery was attacked. This refinery is located in Russia’s Komi Republic, more than 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine.
Earlier, unknown drones also targeted Russia’s Saratov region. Russians reported explosions and a fire in the regional center near an oil refinery.
